Paramount Network Axes ‘American Woman’ & Snags ‘Younger’ From TV Land

One-and-done!!! After only one season, Paramount Network decided to axe American Woman. Honestly, I don’t blame them. I watched two episodes and died of boredom even with the parade of shirtless men.

The series, inspired by the real-life upbringing of co-executive producer Kyle Richards (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), started off well. However, the Alicia Silverstone series couldn’t sustain the numbers and declined every week during its run.

In other Paramount Network news, in a surprising twist, Younger will air its sixth season on the network instead of TV Land. Why? Two words. Darren Star.

The 57-year-old producer will premiere his new show Emily in Paris on Paramount. Both Younger and Emily and Paris will be part of a new Thursday dramedy night. The First Wives Club television adaptation will also air on that night.

“I am thrilled to be continuing my journey with Younger and now Emily in Paris on the Paramount Network,” Star said in a statement. “Keith [Cox, development and production head for Paramount Network, TV Land, and CMT] and his entire team inspire me with their passion and enthusiasm.”
