It appears Netflix is heading back to The Ozarks. Jason Bateman revealed his series will be back for a Season 3. “I’m happy for me, but concerned for Marty – it’s official OZARK 3 is on the way,” he tweeted. Like the first two seasons, the third will consist of 10 episodes.
Over on Showtime, the Jim Carrey comedy series Kidding received a 10-episode Season 2 renewal. The show marks Carrey’s first series regular role in more than two decades.
“KIDDING has established itself as one of the most endearing and inventive shows on television,” Levine said. “I feel like I have been watching Mr. Pickles my whole life, and I look forward to being entranced by his unique blend of hilarity and heartbreak in season two.”
The first season of Kidding is currently airing on Sundays with the Season 1 finale scheduled for November 11.
Also receiving the greenlight for another season was Disney’s Channel Raven’s Home. The Raven-Symoné comedy will return for a third season.
Though not season renewals, both New Amsterdam and The Resident received orders for more episodes.
NBC ordered nine more episodes of its freshman medical drama, bringing the episode total to 22. With three aired episodes, the show has been averaging a 1.6 rating in the key 18-to-49-year-old demo along with 7.6 million viewers in live plus same day ratings.
Meanwhile, FOX also gave its sophomore medical drama a full-season pickup, bringing its Season 2 episode total to 22.
“Amy Holden Jones, Todd Harthan and the amazing team behind The Resident have brilliantly offered viewers the ability to see the medical industry through a different lens,” said Michael Thorn, president of entertainment at Fox. “We can’t wait to watch the exceptional cast as they continue to roam the halls of Chastain Memorial Hospital.”
