Your Oscar Recap and Highlights: Even The Academy Awards Are Autotuned!

Last night, the biggest night in Hollywood took over our televisions as the Oscars were handed out to films most deserving. James Franco and Anne Hathaway took over hosting duties for the evening and after the hilarious promo spots leading up to the show, the expectations were high.

The evening began with a hilarious opening film montage featuring the two hosts appearing in various films from the year all under the concept of Inception. The premise was they were entering past host Alec Baldwin’s dream to get hosting tips. This really set the tone for the evening however, the writing for the two wasn’t followed through. As much as they shone on their own, there was no real defining moment that made them stand out and make the viewers take notice. One of my favorite moments was the auto-tune film/music mash-up featuring dialog from a few hit movies from 2010 as well as Melissa Leo dropping the F-Bomb during her acceptance speech.

Besides the hosts, the montages and the acceptance speeches, there were a few statues handed out throughout the evening. And in the spirit of competition, some of the cast members picked who thought would win in each category throughout the night and ultimately be crowned the Official, Unofficial Oscar Guru. Who came out on top? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see.
