While many small clothing retailers have released limited edition pride t-shirts commemorating gay pride season, this new release may be the biggest. Old Navy (owned by Gap Inc.) has launched their line of gay pride themed tees for men, women and babies with 10% of the proceeds going towards It Gets Better.

Old Navy may not be known for having the best quality t-shirts and apparel in the market but I personally admire Gap Inc. for taking a step in the right direction to show that they are on board with equality. With pride season about to commence into full swing all over North America, it’s nice to see a smaller of the big box chains really get into the spirit of it all.

Marc Jacobs and Kenneth Cole are other stores that have released limited edition tees to support pride or marriage equality in the past and of course the popular Legalize Gay t-shirts were to brought to us by American Apparel.

The Old Navy pride shirts start at $7.50 and go up to $14.50 and will be available until June 30th. While some may feel that Old Navy could have pushed the boundaries on the tees a little more, you have to remember they are a family retail clothing outlet, NOT a store for adult novelty tees. I commend them for making even the smallest step in the right direction.
