Ocean’s 8 just received another jolt of testosterone. James Corden has officially signed on to appear in the female-driven Ocean’s Eleven spin-off. He’ll reportedly play an insurance broker who grows suspicious of the ladies.
The 38-year-old Late Late Show host is the latest male actor to jump on board. He joins Damian Lewis who’s playing the villain and Matt Damon who’s reprising his role of Linus Caldwell from the original trilogy.
Ocean’s 8 boasts a star-studded cast that includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Nora Lum (who goes by the rap name Awkwafina), Mindy Kaling and Sarah Paulson. Bullock’s character is reportedly the sister of George Clooney’s character Danny. Though not officially confirmed, both Dakota Fanning and Katie Holmes have been spotted on set. Expect cameos from them.
“It’s a pretty similar tone. You know, Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t. I don’t think he would’ve wanted anyone to do it if we weren’t. This is very much an extension and a continuation,” director Gary Ross told Slashfilm.
Ocean’s 8 arrives June 8, 2018. It sucks that we have to wait over a year. Excited that Corden is part of the cast? Weigh in below.
