Who doesn’t have a favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle? I’m certain at some point, we’ve all watched these beloved characters growing up. I certainly did. Obviously, I’m excited for Michael Bay’s reboot of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series from the early 1990s. The Jonathan Liebesman-directed flick find the mutated reptile warriors defending the world from invading aliens. Ninja Turtles began production this month in New York and is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2014.
Until recently, Megan Fox was the only actor attached to the project. The 26-year-old actress snagged the role of April O’Neil– a good friend of the Turtles. If you recall, Fox publicly said a few not so choice words about Bay while working with him during the Transformers films. As a result, she was replaced in the third film by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. With Megan’s career going nowhere fast, she allegedly groveled back to the action producer to make amends. Looks like it worked. Find out who’ll be joining Fox in the film below.
Playing Raphael is Alan Ritchson (top left). The 28-year-old actor’s previous credits include auditioning for American Idol in Season 3, playing Aquaman in Smallville and appearing in the highly-anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hitting theaters later this year.
Tackling the role of Donatello– the brains of the operation- is Jeremy Howard (top right). The 32-year-old actor has appeared in 40 plus commercials and numerous guest spots on shows like Suburgatory, Grey’s Anatomy and Breaking Bad.
Stepping in to play my favorite turtle Michelangelo is Noel Fisher (bottom left). The 29-year-old Canadian actor is best known for his role in Showtime’s Shameless. His big screen credits include Final Destination 2, Agent Cody Banks and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Last and certainly not least is newcomer Pete Ploszek (bottom right). He’s been tapped to play Leonardo. His short resume of work include appearances in Parks and Recreation and Shameless.
