Nicole Scherzinger, Steve Jones… And Paula Abdul NOT Returning To ‘The X Factor’?

A BIG shake up for The X Factor next season! Firstly, it’s probably not too surprising given the drama this season, but Nicole Scherzinger will not be returning. E! Online is reporting that it was her request and that Simon Cowell gave her his blessing.
The source told E! that Scherzinger “wants to focus on her music career,” adding that “X Factor took a lot more of her time than she ever expected. She didn’t have any time really to work on her music. She was doing X Factor six days a week.” The former lead Pussycat is currently rehearsing for her upcoming European tour that starts next month.
Also not returning to the show is host Steve Jones. On Monday he announced on Twitter that he would be leaving the show. “I won’t be hosting next seasons X Factor which is a shame but I can’t complain as I’ve had a great time,” the Tweet read. “Good luck to everyone on the show.” I’m not sure who’s replacing either of these two, but rumor has it that it could be Mariah Carey filling Scherzinger’s shoes. Do you think Mariah would make a good replacement as a judge?
They say everything happens in threes… Perhaps the biggest shock of all is that Paula Abdul is also apparently not going to be back next season either! Deadline is reporting that Paula is the third go, saying their source is a Simon Cowell insider.

Aw, I loved Nicole! But she definitely has more to give performance wise and shouldn’t be stuck in a chair.

YES about Nicole she was a beyond AWFUL judge…paula too but i love her dynamic with Simon….oh well

I enjoyed Paula’s interaction with Simon, but she was basically irrelevant to the show. Of course, that’s not her fault, she was stuck with groups and lost them all at the beginning, so ended up with nothing to do. My dream replacement judges would be Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. I know that would never happen in a million years, but I’ve been wanting to see more judging from her ever since she was a judge on SYTYCD. Speaking of, Cat Deely has to replace Jones as host, she’s my favorite

The only reason Simon is keeping LA is because he makes good TV with his constant (and annoying) arguing with Simon. It’s no surprise Simon would want divas or douches to be on the judging panel so that it makes good TV–resulting in a popular show and will beat other singing competition in ratings.
