Nicki Minaj Passes Aretha Franklin To Become New Billboard Hot 100 Queen

Move over Aretha Franklin. There’s a new queen in town. Nicki Minaj just passed The Queen of Soul with regards to Billboard Hot 100 entries.

Thanks to three new tracks she released last week, the 34-year-old rapper has 76 tracks to her credit that have charted on the all-important chart. “No Frauds,” “Regret in Your Tears” and “Changed It” debuted in the No. 14, No. 61 and No. 71 slots, respectively.

Franklin, who previously held the title as the female artist with the most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, had 73. She held the crown since June 18, 1977. Rounding out the Top 5 are Taylor Swift with 70, Rihanna with 58 and Madonna with 57.

In all honesty though, Franklin should probably still hold the title. The “Respect” singer had top billing on each and every one of her entries, while Minaj can claim only 32. The other 44 she was just a featured artist.

Do you think Minaj deserves to hold the Billboard record for most Hot 100 singles? Or should featured spots not count? Weigh in below.
