Usher, I mean Ne-Yo, just dropped the music video for his latest single, “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)“. I love me some Ne-Yo & Usher, but what is up with the visual. It’s something you’d expect coming from the “Confessions” singer. I realize that this is what sells these days and gets the most radio airplay, but I miss Ne-Yo circa his “Sexy Love” and “So Sick” era. R&B needs to make a comeback and do it soon. Don’t get me wrong, I love electro-dance pop, but I appreciate a catchy R&B jam as well. Don’t you agree?
Christopher Sims directed the music video for “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)”. It shows off Ne-Yo’s ability to keep up with professional backup dancers. Set in a huge warehouse, Ne-Yo grooves while singing about his lady love who is seen standing alone on a beach. Later on they are seen getting nasty on his bed. In other words, it’s pretty much a paint-by-numbers music video.
“Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)” (how long is that title) is the lead cut from fifth studio album, “R.E.D“, which is an acronym for “Realizing Every Dream“. UGH, can someone get me a barf bag. LOL. I kid, but how cheesy is that acronym? “R.E.D”, arrives in stores on September 18th via Motown, his first album with the record label. Check out the music video below.
What do you think? Do you prefer Ne-Yo dance-oriented or more classic R&B? Sound off below.

Couldn’t agree more with this. The whole song, concept and video all sound like they were originally written for Usher. Maybe it was and he rejected it as one of his album tracks. Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
