It’s All About Family Drama In New ‘The Fate Of The Furious’ Trailer

While most franchises start slowing down after a couple sequels, at eight installments in, the Fast and the Furious saga isn’t running out of gas anytime soon. The latest film looks more action-packed and tricked out than the rest. Seriously, some of the stunts are insane. The Rock physically redirecting a missile to a new target is ridiculous but highly entertaining.

The Fate and The Furious was shot all around the world, from New York City to Abu Dhabi and Iceland to Havana. The budget for this must’ve been insane. Not to mention all the salaries for the all-star cast, especially newbie Charlize Theron.

Speaking of which, the new promo gives us a closer look at her villainous role of Cipher who has an ability to hack into automobiles. “Thousands of cars in this city,” Cipher declares, “And now, they’re all mine!” I love Theron in anything she does, but bad girl Charlize is my favorite.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

The Fate of the Furious races into theaters April 14. Check out the high-octane trailer below.
