You know you’re excited. We’ve been waiting for it for a while now. With all of the leaks that have hit the net in the last week, our whistle is wet with anticipation for Lady Gaga’s much talked about and acclaimed album Born This Way. Before songs were even leaked, Mother Monster herself claimed that this album was the best pop record of all time. Will the critics agree?
The LA Times was one of the first to get out an early review of the disc and while many of Gaga’s Little Monsters are loving the tracks, the Times felt that the music didn’t match her overtly dominant message. They wished that she would have taken as many risks musically as she does with her lyrics. They also noted that many of the tracks felts like dumbed down Daft Punk tracks or rejects from a Basement Jaxx record in 1999.
The leaks from the album that I’ve heard, I quite enjoy but then again, I just love pop music and am not expecting Lady Gaga to take big risks musically, especially when she is pairing herself with producers RedOne and Fernando Garibay. The album is available in a single disc and double disc special edition. I personally, cannot wait to hear the full, finished product.

Most of Lady G’s songs are too fast.
I expected WAY MORE from her.

I like a couple of the songs, but it just seems like there is no focus. And the album has been so over hyped for months now that anything is going to sound lackluster. And don’t get me started on the arrogance of calling it the “album of the decade”.
