Netflix Cancels ‘One Day At A Time’ After Three Seasons

Talk about a bummer 🙁

Even being critically-acclaimed can’t stave off cancellation if you have low viewership numbers. The reboot of One Day At A Time received the axe from Netflix after three seasons.

When it first premiered in 2017, the comedy about a Cuban-American family was listed as one of the best new shows. During its run, it’s received praise for its representation of Latinx, LGBTQ characters and a veteran dealing with PTSD. Along the way, it was showered with EMMY, Critics’ Choice and GLAAD Media Award nominations.

I really quite enjoyed the reboot and heartbroken about its cancellation. Here’s hoping the show gets a new home. During the Season 3 finale, Joe Manganiello joined the series as Nick. How could Netflix be so cruel and not give me more of Manganiello for Season 4?

Aw that sucks. Hope it can get saved. It’s a great LGBTQ-friendly show.

Netflix sucks. I am starting to think about cancelling my membeship if they are going to cancel all shows I watch!
