Decisions for existing shows are usually made by the time the spring upfronts arrive. For some reason, NBC still had a few shows in limbo. Well, their fates have been decided and it’s not good for any of them.
Abby’s, along with The Enemy Within and The Village have all been canceled after their freshman runs. Not really surprising given their performances. Abby’s only averaged 1.7 million viewers while The Enemy Within and The Village raked in 6.9 and 5.7 million viewers respectively.
Even though Abby’s won’t see a sophomore run, at least it made history. It was the first ever sitcom shot before a live outdoor audience.
The trio’s cancellation comes on the heels of A.P. Bio getting yanked after two seasons.
