Oh sh*t girl. Naya Rivera lays it down. The Glee actress premiered her debut single on LA station Power 106 and it’s pretty sick. Typically, television actresses pursuing music careers almost never cross over to become legitimate recording artists. I think the 26-year-old might actually be an exception to that rule.
While there are no chances for Naya to wow us with vocal acrobatics, “Sorry” is a perfect debut track to introduce her as a pop singer. It’s easy and laid-back without trying too hard. The beat and hook are infectious. It reminds me something that could’ve fit seamlessly on a Janet Jackson or TLC album back in the late 90s. Rivera is serving a serious vintage vibe. If this is what’s to come from Naya, I can’t wait for her debut album on Columbia Records. Check out her debut track below which features her boyfriend rapper Big Sean.
