It’s just been announced that The Nate Berkus Show will not be renewed for the 2012-2013 season. The talk show debuted September 13, 2010 in syndication and did have a loyal following – just not big enough I suppose. According to TVSeriesFinale.com, the show averaged about 1.4 million viewers this season.
Nate Berkus is one of Oprah’s favorite designers and she opened the doors to his career in television. Berkus sent a message to all of his fans on Facebook saying, “The show has been so special to me, and all of you have been the inspiration. We have new shows airing until May, so I hope you continue to spend an hour of your day with me. Thank you for all of your love and support!”
I’m sure the handsome 40 year old will do just fine without the show. On top of being a sought after designer and having his own line of merchandise, he was an executive producer for the move “The Help” and guest starred on Days of our Lives earlier this season. Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios released a join statement about the decision to cancel the show. Read it below.
Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios joint statement:
“After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall… We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we’re very proud of what they’ve delivered.”
