Nate Berkus Show Cancelled

It’s just been announced that The Nate Berkus Show will not be renewed for the 2012-2013 season. The talk show debuted September 13, 2010 in syndication and did have a loyal following – just not big enough I suppose. According to TVSeriesFinale.com, the show averaged about 1.4 million viewers this season.

Nate Berkus is one of Oprah’s favorite designers and she opened the doors to his career in television. Berkus sent a message to all of his fans on Facebook saying, “The show has been so special to me, and all of you have been the inspiration. We have new shows airing until May, so I hope you continue to spend an hour of your day with me. Thank you for all of your love and support!”

I’m sure the handsome 40 year old will do just fine without the show. On top of being a sought after designer and having his own line of merchandise, he was an executive producer for the move “The Help” and guest starred on Days of our Lives earlier this season. Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios released a join statement about the decision to cancel the show. Read it below.

Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios joint statement:

“After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall… We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we’re very proud of what they’ve delivered.”

  • I really enjoyed The Nate Berkus Show and I think Nate is a wonderful human being. He brought awareness about bullying to his audience and he seems like he has a kind and warm heart. I used to watch his show here in Pittsburgh @ 2 AM, but they changed it to the afternoon and could no longer watch 🙁

Not renewed? This is what is wrong with TV. Nate’s show is
so interesting, new and full of lots of things that can be done
    at home.

I guess FOX thinks no one is nude, no one is making love in front of the camera, and no one is using filthy language, so we
night as well get rid of him.

Wake up FOX, it is my opinion that most people want Nate and NOT some stupid talk show with NO content. Like the stupid show that follows Nate. (WEndy?) Watched it for a few days and now turn my channel to another station or OFF after Nate is
    over.

    Please reconsider this decision!

I couldn’t watch the show. He was annoying. Ask my boyfriend, we would cringe every time he would cross his legs! Nate’s legs crossed like no other gay man had ever crossed their legs before. So awkward! He had good style though, with homes 🙂

I can’t believe you cancelled this show! I thought the Nate Show was great. I looked forward to watching it each day. The shows content was full of useful information and I loved keeping up with the latest design tips, tricks and trends. I hope you reconsider cancelling the show and I hope he comes up with something else so I can continue to follow. I’ll miss having my morning coffee with Nate!
