I didn’t shed a tear when “The Hills” went off the air, but I think a Costco-sized package of tissues is in order for this heartbreaking news. The leggy star of the MTV series, confirmed “The City” is dead on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM show this morning saying, “As of right now it doesn’t really look like we’re doing it anymore”. She also added that it probably won’t be moving to another network either. Sniff, sniff.
Considering “Jersey Shore” brings in record Nielsen Ratings (roughly 6 million each week) for the network, The Hills-spinoff’s paltry 1 million seems downright anemic. I guess it’s a no-brainer. Damn you The Situation and Snooki for being so appealing.
So what’s in store for the gorgeous blond? She has a few things lined up and packing up her apartment in NYC and heading back to the West Coast.
“I’m working on some other things, but It’s okay, one door closes and another opens.”
“I really love L.A. My family is here, and I just love the vibe….”
She failed to mention her boyfriend of seven months, Ben Mentin (The Buried Life) also lives in Cali. Like that didn’t factor in her decision to move back. As much as I love Whitney, I’m more sad that I won’t get to see Erin Kaplan and Olivia Palermo go at it each week. But most of all, I will miss Kelly Cutrone the most. That woman is my business guru. Her words of wisdom are not only insightful but downright hilarious. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Bravo greenlights season two of “Kell on Earth“. I’ll take my Cutrone any way I can. C’mon Andy Cohen, we don’t need another installment of “The Real Housewives of…“.
Will you miss “The City”? or is this good riddance? Which “character” will you miss the most? Post your comments below.
