The nominations for this year’s MTV Video Awards are out, and it’s all about the Gaga. The Fame Monster leads all nominees with a record 13 nominations, the most ever by a single artist in one year. On top of that, Lady Gaga is also the first female artist nominated for two different videos for the prestigious “Video of the Year”. Here’s what the Bad Romance singer had to say about her accolades:

“I’m so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number; 13,” said Lady Gaga. “A long time ago the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard, together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for 3 reasons: To make loud music, gay videos, and cause a damn raucous. Thank You MTV!”

Coming in with the second most nominations is Eminem, while rapper B.o.B. scores five and newcomer Ke$ha Tik Toks with three nods. Also scoring first time nominations are: Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence + The Machine and Mumford and Sons.

The “2010 MTV Video Music Awards” will air live from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT.) I wonder if anything well top the Kanye West/Taylor Swift debacle from last year. From a publishing editorial point of view, I DEARLY HOPE SO. MTV will announce additional performers, presenters and host on a later date.

BEST COLLABORATION

  • B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams, “Airplanes”
  • Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga, “Video Phone (Extended Remix)”
  • Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé, “Telephone”
  • 3OH!3 featuring Ke$ha, “My First Kiss”
  • Jay-Z & Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind”

SHOULD WIN: Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé, “Telephone”
WILL WIN: Jay-Z & Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind”

Beyonce & Lady Gaga in one video. How can they not win? Thank God they worked out the kinks of working together in that less-than-stellar Videophone. I fear Gaga and B will cannibalize each other, therefore giving Jiggaman and Keys the win. Also, MTV won’t pass up on the chance to get those two on stage.

BEST FEMALE VIDEO

  • Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
  • Ke$ha, “Tik Tok”
  • Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg, “California Gurls”
  • Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga, “Video Phone (Extended Remix)”
  • Taylor Swift, “Fifteen”

SHOULD WIN: Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
WILL WIN: Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”

If there is any justice in the world, Lady Gaga will win the moon man for this award. Having said that, if they want to spread the wealth like last year (Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Gaga), then Katy Perry has a good shot of sneaking in with her summer sensation California Gurls.

BEST MALE VIDEO

  • Eminem, “Not Afraid”
  • Usher featuring Will.i.am, “OMG”
  • B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams, “Airplanes”
  • Drake, “Find Your Love”
  • Jason Derulo, “In My Head”

SHOULD WIN: Usher featuring Will.i.am, “OMG”
WILL WIN: Eminem, “Not Afraid”

I’m obsessed with Usher so I’m a little biased in this category. Having said that, Eminem’s Not Afraid is beautifully shot and deserves the award as well.

BEST HIP HOP VIDEO

  • B.oB featuring Hayley Williams, “Airplanes”
  • Eminem, “Not Afraid”
  • Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem, “Forever”
  • Jay-Z & Swizz Beats, “On To The Next One”
  • Kid Cudi featuring MGMT & Ratatat, “Pursuit Of Happiness”

SHOULD WIN: B.oB featuring Hayley Williams, “Airplanes”
WILL WIN: Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem, “Forever”

I think MTV will want to spread the Hip-Hop wealth and anoint Drake with this award. But if they really want to praise the best video, then hands down it has to go to B.o.B. I love that song and can’t get it out of my head.

BEST NEW ARTIST

  • Ke$ha, “Tik Tok”
  • Jason Derulo, “In My Head”
  • Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris, “Baby”
  • Nicki Minaj featuring Sean Garrett, “Massive Attack”
  • Broken Bells, “The Ghost Inside”

SHOULD WIN: Nicki Minaj featuring Sean Garrett, “Massive Attack”
WILL WIN: Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris, “Baby”

Bieber Fever will propel the pint-sized singer onto the Nokia Theater stage to accept this award. There’s no shot of Nicki Minaj of winning, but I just wanted to single her out so I can profess my love for her. If you haven’t heard “Your Love” by Minaj yet, CHECK IT OUT.

BEST POP VIDEO

  • Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
  • Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dog, “California Gurls”
  • Ke$ha, “Tik Tok”
  • Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga, “Video Phone (Extended Remix)”
  • B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars, “Nothing on You”

SHOULD WIN: Ke$ha, “Tik Tok”
WILL WIN: Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dog, “California Gurls”

I abhor Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” music video. It’s super cheesy, and NOT in a good way. Love or hate her, Ke$ha’s Tik Tok is a far superior pop video and ruled the charts for months.

BEST ROCK VIDEO

  • 30 Seconds To Mars, “Kings and Queens”
  • MUSE, “Uprising”
  • Paramore, “Ignorance”
  • Florence + the Machine, “Dog Days Are Over”
  • MGMT, “Flash Delirium”

SHOULD WIN: Florence + the Machine, “Dog Days Are Over”
WILL WIN: Paramore, “Ignorance”

Expect the alternative rock band to win their first Moonman. Personally, I think Florence + The Machine owns this category, but that’s just my personal choice.

BEST DANCE MUSIC VIDEO

  • Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull, “I Like It”
  • Cascada, “Evacuate The Dancefloor”
  • Akon, “Sexy Chick”
  • Usher featuring Will.I.Am, “OMG”

SHOULD WIN: Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
WILL WIN: Usher featuring Will.I.Am, “OMG”

If Usher has any shot of winning an award, it’s in this category. However, you can’t deny Gaga’s Bad Romance dance moves infiltrated dance clubs all around the world. Trust me, no matter where I was (Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dublin, Los Angeles) everyone was copying moves from the video.

BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO

  • Dan Black, “Symphonies”
  • Gorillaz featuring Bobby Womack & Mos Def, “Stylo”
  • Coldplay, “Strawberry Swing”
  • The Black Keys, “Tighten Up”

SHOULD WIN: Gorillaz featuring Bobby Womack & Mos Def, “Stylo”
WILL WIN: Dan Black, “Symphonies”

All the nominees are all very deserving of their spots in this category. IMHO MTV will honor Dan Black’s Tron-inspired music video, but I’m rooting for Gorillaz. Not only do I love all their videos, but they have Bruce effing Willis in the vid. If either Coldplay’s chalkboard or The Black Keys playground video wins, I’d be okay with that as well.

VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  • Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
  • Florence + The Machine, “Dog Days Are Over”
  • 30 Seconds To Mars, “Kings and Queens”
  • Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé, “Telephone”
  • Eminem, “Not Afraid”

SHOULD WIN: Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”
WILL WIN: Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”

There is absolutely NO WAY Gaga isn’t winning the award of the night. Just like Beyonce’s Single Ladies from the year before, Bad Romance was the signature song and video for previous year.

For a complete list of all the nominees, head over to MTV’s site to check them out. How many awards do you think will win? I’m predicting four. Post your predictions below.
