ABC Finds Alyssa Milano’s Replacement On Mistresses

After ABC chose to move production from Los Angeles to Vancouver for Season 3 to cut costs, Alyssa Milano decided to leave Mistresses. Having recently given birth to a new baby, the 42-year-old actress revealed she didn’t want to spend too much time from her family.

Instead of canceling the moderately-rated series, producers decided to forge ahead and find a new leading lady. Find out below who’s been tapped to play the new ‘mistress’ in town.

Former Blue Bloods actress Jennifer Esposito will play a character named Calista. According to the alphabet network, the character is described as the following:

An “uber-fabulous and larger-than-life, with a wicked sense of humor and style. Calista is the Creative Director of a luxury fashion brand and has the high-class socialite lifestyle that goes with it. Look beneath the surface, however, and we see her loneliness too – a woman whose fun eccentricities cloak a darker, more devious nature. Calista will become Joss’ (Jes Macallan) friend, mentor, and surrogate sister – drawing Joss deeper and deeper into a world of secrets and betrayal.”

Do you watch Mistresses? Was it a wise move to forge ahead without Milano at the helm? Will you miss Milano? Think Esposito is a good fit for the ABC drama? Sound off below.

I thought you were going to say Rose McGowan or Shannen Dougherty? I’ve never seen Charmed but I thought that would be apropos.
