After being out of the spotlight for years, Missy Elliott reemerged to help out Katy Perry during her Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show. Ever since then, fans have waited patiently for the 45-year-old rapper to release her seventh studio album. After a couple of false starts the past couple years with “Pep Rally” and “WTF (Where They From)“, it appears her long-delayed LP is back on track.
Missy teams up with American rapper Lamb for the infectious urban jam, “I’m Better.” She described her new offering as “FIYAH” when she announced it via Twitter. I have to agree. It’s scorching hot. It’s vintage Missy to the max. The accompanying visual, directed by longtime collaborator Dave Meyers, is equally quintessential Misdemeanor as well.
In addition to dropping a new single and video, the “Get Ur Freak On” artist also shared a teaser for an upcoming documentary, scheduled to arrive sometime in 2017. Check out both clips below.
