Vanessa Vanjie Mateo didn’t last very long on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10. Despite being the first queen ousted, she arguably made the biggest impact. Turns out, her unforgettable exit which went viral was all unintentional. She explains all in a preview for the upcoming RPDR Season 10 reunion.
“What were you thinking when you were exiting?” RuPaul asks Mateo. “Truth be told, girl, in my head I was not going to go home so I didn’t prepare no message to leave.” She adds, “Vanjie is a multi-purpose thing” and that it can be used “for whatever.”
Miz Cracker then chimed in and summed it up best. She hilariously says “Miss Vanjie” has evolved to become the gay “Aloha” for the LGBT community. It’s “like ‘hello,’ ‘goodbye,’ and ‘thank you’” at the same time. Perfectly said.
Check out a preview below. RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 reunion airs this Thursday, ahead of the show’s June 28 finale.
