Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson clearly love working together. On the heels of their killer collaboration, “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart,” the duo teams up again. This time, however, for a decidedly different affair. They take on a classic John Lennon track.
“Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” was first released in 1971. Though it’s a Christmas song, it was also intended as a protest track against the Vietnam War. Lennon recorded the single with the Harlem Community Choir and his wife Yoko Ono. It’s only fitting Cyrus and Ronson’s cover features Lennon and Ono’s son Sean Ono Lennon. Cyrus recently talked about her experience working with the 43-year-old singer-songwriter.
“I mean, he’s just such an incredible being to be in the room with because that magic just radiates,” Cyrus said on The Tonight Show. “And I have always loved John and Yoko, I’m such a big Yoko fan, and so it’s just been amazing to work with him and his voice is just so special.”
