Michelle Pfeiffer is dipping her toes in the comic book pool again. She previously played Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. She’s switching allegiances and playing for the Marvel team this time around.
The 59-year-old actress has signed on for the Ant-Man sequel. She’ll play Janet Van Dyne, the wife of Michael Douglas‘ character Hank Pym and mother of Evangeline Lilly‘s character Hope Van Dyne. Though Lilly is playing the titular wasp in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Pfeiffer’s character was the original Wasp in the Marvel comic books.
In addition to Pfeiffer joining the superhero sequel, it was confirmed that Laurence Fishburne will as well. The 55-year-old actor takes on the role of Dr. Bill Foster. In the comic books, his character, also known as Black Goliath, possesses the same growing powers as the Ant-Man.
Excited about Pffiffer and Fishburne joining the franchise? Sound off below. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
