Are you kidding me? Meryl Streep sitting across Anna Wintour, the woman who inspired her Devil Wears Prada character Miranda Priestly. Simply mind-blowing. Had Streep uttered “That’s all,” I would’ve shit bricks.
In Meryl’s defense, she sorta eluded to the 2006 comedy-drama when Anna asked her which woman was the most challenging one to portray, but the fashion icon quickly squashed that. She swerved that topic like she was avoiding hitting a deer on the highway.
Streep dropped by Vogue to talk about her upcoming historical period drama film, The Post, where she plays journalist Katharine Graham, whose Watergate coverage eventually led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Anna was actually friends with the late publisher.
Other topics the two legends talked about were the Mueller investigation, sexual harassment and female empowerment. At the end of their five-minute conversation, Wintour presented Streep with the latest issue of Vogue which happens to feature Streep. Check out the clip below.
