The hunt for a killer comes to an end. We don’t write about these types of stories that often, but sometimes when it’s so close to home, and literally in the same city as Alex, it’s hard to ignore. Maurice Clemmons, a 37 ex-convict, was the suspect that the police were on the lookout for that had killed four Washington police officers in Seattle on Sunday, was shot by a 7 year veteran police officer at 2:45am this morning. After a two-day manhunt, the officer noticed a stolen car parked in a lot, that was running but no one was in it. The officer then approached the suspect outside the car and recognized him from the police photos, as the killer from Sunday. He asked him to show him his hands and when the suspect refused and proceeded to run around the car, the officer then shot him.
Back in May, Clemmons had been charged with child rape and assault on a police officer and is described as “unpredictable and erratic.”
At 8:15am, the officers were shot and killed at a coffee shop on Steele Street, which was a regular hang out for them. Clemmons walked past the officers to the counter, looking as if he was going to order a coffee or something, but instead pulled out a gun and started shooting at them as they sat at their table. Two of the officers were “executed” as the sat, one shot as he stood up, and the fourth one was shot as he tried to take down the gunman, struggling all the way to the door. Clemmons also suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen but managed to survive….until he was shot last night.

Photographed above are the officers that were killed, from Left To Right: Mark Renninger, 39; Ronald Owens, 37; Tina Griswald, 40; Greg Richards, 42. They had all been with the department since it began and they all had children, that will be missing a parent for Christmas this year. So sad.

This is a strange homorazzi article.
Anyway, for your enlightenment, you can blame this one on religion:

Haha, yes Al we don’t write about this kind of stuff much. Interesting article re: link. The guys definitely should not have been on the loose, that’s for sure.

Hey Patrick, I’m glad you wrote about this! Especially since it’s so close to so many of our friends down south… SO close. Hopefully nothing is exactly “out of the realm” of homorazzi though ;)

As someone who works “in the industry”, I’m also glad that you wrote about this. This sort of brazen assassination hits close to home for me, and reminds us all about the dangers that men and women working in law enforcement accept each and every day, to “protect and serve”. Yes, they slip up sometimes, as they’re also human and prone to err, but they’ve taken on a dangerous task that brings them face to face with haters each and every day. Gay or straight, we should all pause to recognize the sacrifice these officers made, simply by standing up and putting on a uniform.
On a more vengeful note, I hope that they throw the book at each and every individual that helped this guy elude capture after he executed those officers. At least he was crazy. They’re just evil.
RIP.
