Who is Matthew Koma? Besides being Carly Rae Jepsen’s boyfriend, he’s a singer-songwriter in his own write. In fact, he produced three songs on Jepsen’s Kiss album. He’s now ready to step into the spotlight. The Interscope recording artist released the first single from his forthcoming debut album, Arcadia.
“One Night” is a sugary playful tale about a one night stand gone sour. DRAMA! It’s the type of electronic pop that just screams summer jam. At certain times, he sorta reminds me of Mika. Cameron Duddy directed the clip filmed at a small town fair. Duddy is a favorite of Bruno Mars. He directed “The Lazy Song,”"Locked Out of Heaven,” and “When I Was Your Man” for the singer.
“Growing up in the ‘90s, videos didn’t always have to be a high art sort of thing,” Koma says. “Sometimes, they were fun. And I always found myself more attracted to artists who had an element of not taking everything they did too seriously. I’m not one of the most serious people on planet Earth.
