Last night, I randomly came across a picture of the kid who, well ate all the chocolate cake in the movie ‘Matilda,’ starring Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, and of course Mara Wilson as the adorable lisping lead, Matilda Wormwood. From what I saw in his picture, the chocolate cake eating boy was all grown up now and definitely got into shape (i’ve included a picture below), but I was suddenly even more curious about Mara Wilson.

In the ’90s, Mara Wilson starred in Matilda, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Miracle On 34th Street among other things, but now, where is this 24 year old woman?

When she grew out of her “nauseatingly cute” and “terribly precocious” child phase, she was no longer booking the leading roles and stepped away from her child stardom. She then focused on comedy and improv while finishing school. She then went to New York University and spent four years trying to avoid awkward eye contact (as she puts it) with the other, much more famous former child stars attending the school. Mara Wilson is now a playwright and I found her fanpage, “Mara Wilson Writes Stuff” on Facebook. From what I learned, she was never into the whole “famous” thing and seems to prefer not being in the spotlight as a “celebrity”.

Aww, the same old “Matilda”!

As for the chocolate cake boy, Jimmy Karz is all grown up and looking handsome I might add. Jim is now 27-years old and a graduate of St. John’s College in New York. After Matilda, he played the “Studliest Kid at Bar Mitzvah” in The Wedding Singer and also guest starred on ER.
