ChatRoulette.com has started a new trend of online, instant video chat sites of an “adult” nature – so many of them in fact that it’s hard to keep up! I recently wrote about ChatRoulette, then a number of other gay-specific ones that have come up since then (all of which were thumbs down due to technical glitches or the inability to handle any sort of traffic volume).

If you don’t understand the concept, I’ll give you a brief rundown. You go to the site. Two boxes appear. One labeled “You” and one labeled “Partner.” Once you click the start button, a disclaimer will come up regarding the possibility of you being filmed, you click okay, and your webcam starts up. You are then connected with a random stranger somewhere. If you like them, you can stay. If not, you click next. The random stranger holds the same power. Well, a couple more of these sites were sent our way, and perhaps you should take a spin…

ManRoulette.com is the only “gay” chat roulette spinoff that has actually worked well and I think this is the one that’s gonna make it. There are no technical issues and the site already seems to have a high volume of visitors that continues to grow. Make no mistake, this site is for getting your rocks off with another random male exhibitionist somewhere else in the world. Do as you wish, but be careful with showing your face. As I mentioned in my previous roulette articles that because you agree to the fact that you may be recorded before you activate your camera on these sites, your image may pop up on the net when you least expect it. You know, your mini version of a sex tape scandal. So if this is your thing, be careful. If a mini sex tape scandal will help your career though, by all means, expose yourself! As I was being a terrible person and capturing all the clips for the montage in the header, I’m almost positive someone snapped a pic of my face. I had the camera at the neck/chest area, and the guy’s like “Can I see your face?” So I panned up for second, and then he was busy doing something on his comp. MyChanceRomance.com is a site that has taken this concept of instance (and random) video chatting and applied it to actually looking for someone to date. Up until now, the sites I’ve come across have kept it very bare bones, referring to the whole video roulette thing as a game: Click “Play Again” to find your next partner. Weird. So anyway, I found this site to be more asthetically pleasing than the rest of come along, and I like the concept of there being a different objective to the site. How well it works in terms of a success rate in matchmaking is yet to be determined I’m sure. One thing is though, this one is obviously for the straight folk. You click whether you’re male or female, and that’s it. There’s no option to specify whether you’re looking for a male or a female to connect with.
