Are You Excited For The ‘Mamma Mia’ Sequel?

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that a Mamma Mia sequel is on the way. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is set to arrive July 20, 2018, ten years after the original musical hit cineplexes. Reportedly, super troupers Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth are set to reprise their roles.

While the feature film adaptation earned mixed reviews, it did boffo box office business. It earned an estimated $600 million worldwide, almost 12 times its budget. Mamma Mia was based on the 1999 West End/2001 Broadway musical of the same name. The sequel will be written and directed by British filmmaker Ol Parker (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and will feature ABBA songs not included in the original film.
