Over the weekend, Madonna teased her fourteenth studio album, titled Madame X. “I decided to call my record Madame X… Madame X is a secret agent traveling around the world, changing identities, fighting for freedom, bringing light to dark places,” she posted on social media.
Just days later, we get our first taste off her forthcoming LP which will include 13 tracks on the standard version and 15 on the deluxe edition. “Medellín” finds Madge teaming up with Colombian superstar Maluma. It’s a mid-tempo banger that’s reggaeton infused.
“I met him backstage at the [MTV] Video Music Awards and he was very sweet,” Madonna told Zane Lowe on her first encounter with Maluma. “The next day he sent me flowers and said what a great honor it was to meet me.” She added, “He’s so great to work with. One of the most easygoing, open, warm, generous, doesn’t leave the studio until the work is done,” she raves. “Has great work ethic. I adore him. Nothing but great things to say about him.”
Give “Medellín” a spin below. Reportedly, the music video will premiere next week on Wednesday, April 24 via a live special called MTV Presents Madonna Live & Exclusive: ‘Medellín’ Video World Premiere. Can’t wait!!!
