Channing Tatum & Adam Driver Play Brothers In Redneck Heist Film ‘Logan Lucky’

If a heist film is in order, there’s only one man for the job. It’s Steven Soderbergh, the director behind the Ocean’s trilogy. Only this time around, it’s a complete inversion of his previous stylish caper films. It’s like a redneck Ocean’s.

“Nobody dresses nice,” Soderbergh previously told EW.com. “Nobody has nice stuff. They have no money. They have no technology. They have no technology. It’s all rubber band technology, and that’s what I thought was fun about it. It seemed familiar to me, but different enough. The landscape, the characters, and the canvass were the complete opposite of an Ocean’s film.”

Soderberg reunites with his Magic Mike star, Channing Tatum for Logan Lucky. The 37-year-old actor plays Jimmy Logan who teams up with his siblings Mellie (Riley Keough) and Clyde (Adam Driver) to reverse a family curse. They set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend.

Daniel Craig, Dwight Yoakam, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterston, Seth MacFarlane, Sebastian Stan and Hilary Swank also star in the comedy which arrives on August 18. Check out the trailer below. It’s worth it alone to hear 007 talk in a Southern accent.
