Ever since Regis Philbin retired in November, people have wondered who would be his successor. In the meantime, Kelly Ripa has hosted Live! with a revolving door of potential co-hosts. After months of testing and speculation, producers have finally narrowed it down to three final candidates.

When Philbin first left, early reports suggested that Andy Cohen, Ryan Seacrest and Mark Consuelos were in contention. Since then, Ripa has commented that hiring her husband Consuelos for the gig would be bad for their marriage. That put him out of the mix real quickly. The others soon fell off the radar as well due to time commitments with several projects. Find out who the three potential successors to Regis are below.

Showbiz 411 is reporting that SNL’s Seth Meyers, former New York Giant Michael Strahan and singer Josh Groban have made the short list. Out of the three, reports say Seth Meyers is the frontrunner. If Meyers does score the gig, he won’t have to necessarily leave SNL. So fans of his “Weekend Update” need not worry. Seth has co-hosted several times already on Live!, but is scheduled for a weeklong run starting Monday. I guess this will be his unofficial final audition.

Who do you think should replace Regis? Any of the three shortlisted candidates or someone else? Sound off below.
