Linda Perry Issues Apology For Slamming Lady Gaga’s Oscar Nomination

Well, that was a short-lived feud. Merely hours after accusing Lady Gaga of not co-writing the Oscar-nominated song, “Till It Happens to You,” Linda Perry has issued an apology. The 50-year-old singer-songwriter posted the following two tweets.

“My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment. I wasn’t in the room when the #TIHTY was being written,” Linda tweeted. “More importantly, I wish the focus to remain on the great importance of the song and the message of the film.”

Did she bow down due to pressure from all the little monsters? I’m thinking the fact Diane Warren, who co-wrote the rape anthem, issued a statement of her own is the reason why. Warren stood by Gaga’s side. Read her earlier tweets below.

Gaga is having a blast. First, her performance of “The Sound of Music” medley where she got a standing ovation during the Academy Awards in 2015. Second, her “Cheek to Cheek” tour with Tony Bennett which strengthened her foothold & silenced her harshest critics. Third, her Golden Globes Best Actress Win for American Horror Story: Hotel just these past few days. And now this Oscar nomination. Good job girl. You’re definitely blessed! You’ve come a looong way since Poker Face. Artflop what?? =)
