Given that Leona Lewis’ previous attempts to create buzz for her third studio album have failed, perhaps picking a song titled “Trouble” as an official single isn’t the wisest move. It could prove prophetic in the end. If her latest track falls flat, I wonder if Sony will once again push back the long-delayed Glassheart even more. Or will they just dump the X Factor winner from its roster?

There are a few things going in “Trouble’s” favor. One, it’s a ballad that works well with Leona’s vocals. She’s definitely in her element with this type of track. Secondly, nothing says hit more than a song about personal heartbreak. Just ask Adele. Lastly, it was co-written by rising Scottish artist Emeli Sandé. If you haven’t heard of this woman, check her out on YouTube. This woman is a powerhouse. Emeli was absolutely flawless at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics.

Enough of Sandé, let’s get back to “Trouble“. The track was co-produced by Naughty Boy and Fraser T. Smith. American rapper Childish Gambino aka Community’s Donald Glover drops a couple of rap verses. He used Lewis’ recent breakup with longtime boyfriend, Lou Al-Chamma, as inspiration. Listen to Leona’s latest song below.
