You’re never too old for Lego. Feast your eyes on that colorful creation! A couple Parisian designers (known as Munchausen) named Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti have discovered the building blocks to a unique looking kitchen. They ventured to IKEA, as many people do find some basic stuff that was not going to break the bank. There they got the kitchen island that they needed, and perhaps may have stopped for some cheap Swedish meatballs while they were there. That was the easy part.
For the next week, they put together their island masterpiece…piece by piece. They used more than 20,000 lego pieces (coincidentally another Scandinavian brand) to cover the island. Given the colors, the island obviously stands out as the artistic centerpiece in the space, in addition to functioning as the kitchen counter.
Munchhausen is the name of the designers partnership, which was started in 2004. Pillard also works with JC de Castelbajac (fashion house) and Rosetti works with Hugo Boss France Identity. They two have been keeping themselves quite busy, as they contributed a collection of T-shirts, cushions, wallpaper and accessories to the French label, Commune de Paris, 1871.

It’s always been my theory that LEGO was invented by IKEA to train to people to “buy in and build” at childhood in their first step to world domination… Think about it!
