Lady Gaga: RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Premiere Cameo, Post-Super Bowl Sales & Upcoming Grammy Duet

It’s Lady Gaga’s world and we’re merely just living in it. At least this week, that’s the case. It’s been non-stop Mother Monster-related news since her epic Super Bowl LI halftime show. And from the looks of it, it’s not going to slow down anytime soon.

The most exciting and surprising development is the fact that Gaga is popping up on the Season 9 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The 30-year-old popstar broke the news herself via Twitter.

“The time has come! I’m joining the girls on the season premiere of @RuPaulsDragRace!” Gaga tweeted, while also hash-tagging the lyrics #DontBeADrag #JustBeAQueen from her 2011 hit “Born This Way.”

As you would expect, the queens lost their sh*t. “May the best woman win,” she declares, reciting RuPaul’s signature line.

FOX reports that Gaga’s 13-minute gig pulled an astounding 117.5 million viewers, making it the second-most-viewed halftime show in Super Bowl history, behind Katy Perry’s set at Super XLIX, which drew 120.7 million viewers. With so many eyeballs, naturally Gaga’s catalog saw a massive increase.

According to Billboard, her discography has soared by over 1000% percent, with the Joanne single “Million Reasons” standing as her current highest-selling individual song with more than 45,000 downloads Sunday. “Bad Romance” saw a bump of 1,525%, selling more than 13,000 downloads. “Born This Way” spiked to 12,000 downloads, good enough for a 2,202% increase. “Poker Face” picked up 10,000 new sales, an increase of 1,217%. Expect Gaga to do some damage on next week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Lastly, Rolling Stone confirmed that Gaga will join Metallica for a duet at the 59th Grammy Awards this Sunday. She performed on last year’s telecast to pay tribute to David Bowie.

All this and Gaga’s recently-announced Joanne World Tour. 2017 is going to be a very busy year for Miss Germanotta. Which of Gaga’s news excites you the most? Weigh in below.
