Kylie Minogue Announces New Album ‘Golden’

Social media buzzed with speculation surrounding the Aussie pop star’s upcoming 14th studio album on Wednesday when unconfirmed promotional posters popped up in Paris, France. Within hours Kylie Minogue took to Twitter to address the rumors and confirm her new LP will be titled Golden.

Reportedly, the lead single is called “Dancing” and will be released later this month. The 49-year-old singer previously talked to Entertainment Weekly about what to expect on her new album.

“There’s a little bit of heartbreak, I would say,” Minogue previously told The Sun of her new material in October 2017, admitting that her breakup with former fiancé Joshua Sasse informed the album’s creative process. “I went to Nashville for two weeks and that became the album. I did a lot of work on the album before that, but Nashville had a profound effect on me. The songs are very storytelling and story-based. It was so great to do things a little bit differently.”

Golden will be Kylie’s first album since Kylie Christmas released in 2015. Not counting that festive offering, her previous set featuring new material was Kiss Me Once back in 2014. That album spawned “Into the Blue,” “Sexercize” and “I Was Gonna Cancel.”
