If you’re a woman living in the UK, you better head to the salon for a color appointment or buy some Clairol hair dye. Turns out going platinum blond for 2013 is the way to go. At least that’s what two British publications are inadvertently saying. Elle UK and Marie Claire UK have gone outside the United Kingdom’s borders and enlisted two international pop superstars- Kylie Minogue and Gwen Stefani respectively- to cover their January 2013 issues.

Both 40+ women look absolutely stunning on the covers and respective fashion spreads. You can’t but help but laugh at each lady’s claim inside the magazine. Kylie says she’s horrified whenever she sees herself in the mirror. Yeah, right. Considering, Gwen claims she’s stopped working out, girlfriend still has a rockin’ bod. Clearly like everyone else, they’re their own worst critics.

Minogue gives icy blond glamor for photographer Cuneyt Akeroglu, while Stefani is old Hollywood sophistication in her spread. Elle UK chose Kylie for their celebration of British fashion. The “Timebomb” singer rocks it out in every outfit. Gwen on her part is equally as stylish in her threads. I guess she should, given that she’s wearing her own L.A.M.B. designs in every photo.
