If you’ve attended a recent Kings of Leon concert, you’ve no doubt heard “Supersoaker.” They’ve been testing it out at recent gigs. Clearly, they’re finally happy with it and decided to finally release the high-quality audio version today during an interview with BBC Radio 1. “Supersoaker” is the official lead single from Kings of Leon’s sixth studio album Mechanical Bull which was produced by longtime collaborator Angelo Petraglia.
Loyal fans of KOL will appreciate the bluesy rock vibe of “Supersoaker.” It’s very reminiscent of Kings of Leon’s early albums before selling out (wisely so). Caleb Followill is supes sexy as he gravelly grunts the lyrics. So hot. The anthemic guitar break is everything, especially with Followill’s moaning.
Kings of Leon are currently on tour in the UK. They’ll head back stateside on July 23rd to perform with Jackson Browne and the Flaming Lips at the Rock for Oklahoma benefit. Mechanical Bull is due in stores on September 24 via RCA Records.
