After five long years, Kesha finally blessed her loyal Animals with a brand new album today. Rainbow is her first full-length LP since Warrior back in 2012. To celebrate its release, the 30-year-old singer premiered the music video for the album’s title track.
“‘Rainbow’ was the first song I wrote for this record. I wanted to call the album Rainbow because after the storm, there’s a rainbow — and recently, I feel like I’ve gone through some things that have felt like a storm in my life. This was my way of telling myself that I was going to make it through,” Kesha wrote for Refinery29.com.
The visual for “Rainbow” is just the latest clip in support of her new album, following “Learn To Let Go,” “Woman” and “Praying.” It’s interesting she filmed it inside the famed Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood. Does this mean Sony is finally releasing her from her contract? Is she signing with Capitol? Inquiring minds want to know.
Check out the “Rainbow” clip below. As with her other recent songs, she penned an essay explaining the inspiration behind the track. To learn more about the song, head over to Refinery29.com.
