One of my favorite things Brian and I used to do on Saturdays was walk around and check out open houses. We were really big on buying real estate back then and enjoyed checking out other people’s places for design ideas. No lie, but we moved six times in seven years. We were constantly flipping properties, but eventually grew tired of moving all the time. Given my love for pop culture and interior design, checking out pictures of celebrity homes is definitely up my alley.
Kelly Ripa and her adorable husband Mark Consuelos recently listed their New York penthouse for sale for a whopping $24.5 million. Given she just recently signed a new five-year contract to host Live! With Kelly and Michael, I’m sure Ripa and family are moving to a bigger property. The couple also own a home in Southampton, New York.
The Manhattan property comes in at a huge 6,792 square feet with five bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Reportedly, the two purchased their home back in 2005 for $9.5 million and underwent a two-year renovation. Obviously the place is gorgeous with its high ceilings and impeccable style, but the best feature IMHO is the stunning 2,500 square foot rooftop area. The terrace with an outdoor fireplace, shower and hot tub is to die for. Take a sneak peak into their home below.

the rooftop is definitely the best part. i also love that staircase. it’s probably just the staging, but the place doesn’t look all that warm and inviting in the living areas.

Peter nailed it, it doesn’t look warm or inviting at all.
The wood throughout the place in the floors, stairs, kitchen, decking and exterior is WAY too dark and clashes with the warm beige walls. For a place as big as this is the bathroom is also awkwardly narrow.

Yeah it does look like a film set, but who cares. It’s fucking gorgeous. My favorite is the dining room and patio.
