I love Kelly Clarkson’s jilted rock pop anthems like “Since U Been Gone” and “Never Again“, but I love it even more when she strips it all away and it’s just all about her voice and fan-friggin-tastic tone. This week, Kelly’s Greatest Hits – Chapter One featuring several new songs hit stores, but the 30-year-old is also releasing an EP titled The Smoakstack Sessions Vol. 2. The first volume was included as a bonus disc of the Deluxe Edition of her last album, Stronger.
The Smoakstack Sessions Vol. 2 includes five tracks performed acoustically. One of them being a mashup of Alasis Morissette’s “That I Would Be Good” and Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody“. The result is one seamless ballad that’s a joy to listen to, especially if you’re a huge Kelly fan like myself. What I enjoy about Clarkson is her love of covering songs by other artists. If you’ve watched her concert, you know what I’m talking about. The original American Idol has a popular segment where she performs a cover based on fan requests. Check out her latest cover below.

No one does it like Alanis but Kelly gave it her own. Love it!
