Her fireworks bring all the boys to the yard…
This video for her Will.I.Am produced song, 4th of July (Fireworks), is hot. I love Kelis’ new album so much, and the videos so far as well. She’s looking so hot these days and I’m definitely loving transition from Hip Hop to Dance – music for the moes…just like Kelly Rowland has done. Actually, Spin.com described like so:
“Kelis’ new music is a big-thumping blend of European house and classic dance pop. And at Santos, Kelis and her three-piece band worked the house like any good DJ: bleeding each song into the next, mixing in other people’s hits with their own, and reacting to the frantic push and pull of the crowd.”
Kelis decribes the new album:
“There’s a physicality behind it – it’s about blood, muscle, heart. I was pregnant when I recorded 75 or 80 percent of this music. That’s why there’s such a feeling of freedom on it—you feel such confidence and sureness when this life is growing within you. So I started thinking, how do I portray this, and get people to feel how I felt? And that became a real driving force for me.”
Fire, fireworks, lashes and light shows are prevalent throughout the video. A little promo for some Beats by Dr. Dre headphones too, of course. Kelis herself o-directed the video with Rankin and Nicole Ehrlich. It was shot in the scorching desert outside LA. Ehrlich describes it as a “spectacular array of visual stimulation seeing Kelis play dynamically upon the four elements of the universe.” I couldn’t have put it better myself.
Pre-Order for her new album, Flesh Tone, begins June 15th and is set for a July 6th release In U.S. And Canada.

Didn’t think a live performance would work. But it was amazing.
