Heidi Klum has done it. So have Jillian Michaels and Ashton Kutcher. Now, it’s Katy Perry’s turn to hawk the tasty, healthy snack. Not only is the 27-year-old the latest ambassador for the brand, but she’s also an investor in the company. She’s definitely putting her money where her mouth is. Popchips is the latest in a series of endorsement deals for the pop singer. She’s also lent her name to fragrances, adidas, a wig line and Ubisoft.

“I was hooked after my first bite!” says Katy Perry. “When I discover something good, I want to share it with everyone I know, so I tweeted about it.”

I can definitely agree with her sentiment. I’m totally addicted to the tiny chips. They’re always my go-to choice when I’m craving a treat. Popchips recently announced the launch of a new line of popped tortilla chips. “Never fried. never baked. tortilla popchips are popped using the same stoneground corn masa used to make traditional tortillas and then topped with naturally delicious seasonings. nothing artificial. no trans fat. gluten free. lower fat and calories.” Their new ad campaign certainly plays on the guilt-free factor. Perry is seen in athletic wear and form-fitting dresses in the artwork. Check out all the ads below.

What do you think of the images? Cute, but nothing groundbreaking, right? Perhaps that is exactly what Popchips wanted. Their last campaign featuring Ashton Kutcher donning dark makeup and speaking in an Indian accent drew the ire of many.

Kutcher was playing four roles in the commercial, one being an Indian named Raj. The campaign was abruptly withdrawn after widespread complaints in social media that his performance was racist. Did you see it? Was it in bad taste? Is Katy Perry a better fit for Popchips? Sound off below.
