Katy Perry dropped a surprise new song Thursday night featuring Nicki Minaj called “Swish Swish.” It’s pretty obvious given the lyrics that it’s a diss track. Whether it’s a clap back at Taylor Swift, Perry will most likely never confirm. However, both Perry and Swift’s fans seem to think so. Can you blame them? Check out some of the feisty lines below.
Don’t you come for me / No, not today / You’re calculated
I got your number / ‘Cause you’re a joker / And I’m a courtside killer queen
And you will kiss the ring /You best believe
So keep calm, honey, I’ma stick around / For more than a minute, get used to it
Funny my name keeps comin’ outcho mouth / ‘Cause I stay winning
Your game is tired / You should retire / You’re ’bout cute as
An old coupon expired / And karma’s not a liar / She keeps receipts
If I was a betting man, I’d say this is 100 percent Katy’s response to Taylor’s “Bad Blood.” Though Swift claims the rift started due to backup dancers being stolen, we all know where it truly all began. Two words. John Mayer. Both ladies dated the “Your Body Is A Wonderland” singer.
Nicki has also butted heads with Taylor in the past. Too bad “Swish Swish” wasn’t produced by Calvin Harris. Then it could’ve been a trifecta of scorned players.
Both “Chained To The Rhythm” and “Bon Appetit” are fantastic, but Katy’s latest track off Witness is even better. The 90s retro-sounding anthem has a hypnotic synth beat and sassy lyrics. Give “Swish Swish” a listen below. It’s nothing but net.
