“Love, Revenge and Haute Couture.” Best.Tagline.Ever!!!
The Dressmaker is an upcoming Australian revenge comedy drama film based on Rosalie Ham’s novel of the same name. Kate Winslet plays the titular role who returns to her small Australian hometown to take care of her ailing mother. She causes a stir because of the rumors surrounding why she was sent away when she was just a child.
Liam Hemsworth plays a young man that Winslet falls in love with. Who can blame her? I’ve always admired Winslet for her acting and now I’m officially jealous. I wonder how many takes it took to film that scene where they make out while Hemsworth is shirtless. Lucky gal.
Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving round out the cast. Director Jocelyn Moorehouse (How to Make an American Quilt) describes the movie as “Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven with a sewing machine.” Love it!!!
The film is set to open in Australia on October 22, 2015. No US date has been announced yet. Check out the trailer below.
