I wonder how Elle Macpherson feels about that. The Aussie model was known as “The Body” for many years due to her numerous appearances on Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue. Looks like there’s an heir apparent and her name is Karlie Kloss. The 19-year-old model is certainly capping out an amazing year in spectacular fashion. Last week Victoria’s Secret introduced Kloss to the masses on their annual fashion show and now this.
Kloss is one of the top models working in fashion today. She’s currently ranked No. 3 on models.com thanks to multiple ad campaigns and being an industry favorite. Karlie certainly has influential fans in her corner. One being Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani. The fashion giant placed the leggy beauty on the December 2011 cover of the Italian publication and named her “The Body“. For the momentous occasion, the 5’11” beauty posed for her first ever nude photo editorial.
I’ve been a fan of Karlie’s for some time now and couldn’t be more happier for her success. While a big name in fashion circles, she has relatively remained nameless to the general public despite gracing numerous ads. Now that over 10 million people now know her name due to the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she’s on her way to become one of this generation’s top supermodels and a household name- a Christy Turlington / Linda Evangelista for a modern day.
