This is more like it!!! While there’s no arguing that his “Filthy” music video was innovative, the track itself was a tad underwhelming. That’s not the case for “Supplies” which is classic Justin Timberlake but with some modern swagger. Can we just pretend “Filthy” never happened 😉
“Supplies” is an urban-tinged pop number produced by The Neptunes. JT previously worked with the Pharrell-led production team during his Justified era. It’s the second taste off Timberlakes’ forthcoming album, Man Of The Woods, out February 2, exactly two days before his hotly-anticipated Super Bowl LII Halftime Show.
For the accompanying visual, Justin enlisted director Dave Meyers. The dystopian post-apocalyptic video appears to be inspired by popular sci-fi fare. It’s 1984 meets Brazil meets The Hunger Games and Black Mirror with a little Mad Max vibe. Though set it the future, it tackles current hot topics including Donald Trump, #METOO, climate change and more.
Check out the “Supplies” video below. It co-stars Baby Driver actress Eiza González. God damn, is she ever stunning.
