Both “Sorry” and “Hello” were released the same day in October. Adele’s power ballad immediately debuted at No. 1 and has never looked back. After ten weeks dominating the Billboard Hot 100, “Hello” finally relinquishes its grip on the No. 1 slot. No longer the bridesmaid, “Sorry” at long last, gets its chance to rule the chart.
“Sorry” becomes the Bieb’s second Hot 100 chart-topper of his career, following “What Do You Mean.” His other single “Love Yourself” is sitting pretty at No. 3. It’s extremely likely that track will give him a Purpose hat trick.
I’m actually quite impressed his latest singles are doing so well without the help of music videos featuring him. Don’t get me wrong, I love the dance clips for both, extremely so, but find it interesting Bieber never shot a clip with him included.
