Indie/Limited Release Must Sees In June

I’m totally a fan of big budget blockbuster films, but next month we are also treated to some exciting indie and limited release films that are worth mentioning. A Shakespeare re-take with some Buffy alum, a psychological foreign drama, and a Danish thriller about Somali pirates are all coming your way.

Check out my picks for must see movies (indie/limited release) below!

Much Ado About Nothing

Release Date: June 7th

Why you should see it: There’s a certain magic that happens inside a Buffy fan when two or more actors who played characters on show are reunited on screen. Tom Lenk, Alexis Denisof, and Nathan Fillion *squeal*. Not to mention a slew of other actors Joss Whedon loves to work with. His take on this classic is sure to be interesting.

The Wall

Release Date: June 7th

Why you should see it: Because you’re probably going to want to pretend like you’ve already read the book. An exciting thriller about a woman who awakens to find her cabin has been shut off from the rest of the world by an invisible wall. Sounds cool to me.

A Hijacking

Release Date: June 14th

Why you should see it: A heart-pounding thriller based on a true story about Somali pirates. The trailer really speaks for itself. I really hope a theater in Vancouver is playing this film.

Will you guys be seeing any of these films in June, or will you be sticking to the big Hollywood blockbusters? Let me know below!
