It’s common knowledge that Season 18 of The View has been one hot mess despite being touted initially as a rebuilding one. Producers are starting from scratch and also looking to the past for Season 19.
Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris, Michelle Collins and Raven-Symone have all been added to join Whoopi Goldberg as co-hosts. In a surprising twist, a former panelist is being brought back to the mix.
Joy Behar who appeared on the show from Seasons 1-16 is returning to the show. YOWZA!!! Unlike Sherri Shepherd who is also returning but only as a contributor, Behar will be a full-fledged co-host. Check out the 72-year-old’s statement below about her homecoming.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in. Plus, Steve was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion. But I’m happy to be back home. And I’m looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight,” said Behar in a statement.
As mentioned previously, Shepherd returns as a contributor. She’ll rotate through with the regular co-hosts. Other contributors for next season are Padma Lakshmi, Stacy London, Ana Navarro and Molly Sims.
Do you think Behar can bring the show back to its glory days? I’m cautiously optimistic that she can. This mix of old and new blood could be a winning formula. If this doesn’t work, however, I urge ABC to put it out of its misery. Weigh in below.
